How can I pay for the songs?

You can pay either by credit card, via your mobile phone using the SMS or short message service (only from the system of T-Mobile Hungary and Telenor), or with promotion codes, released by our partners.

What kinds of credit cards are accepted?

The cards currently accepted are: Maestro, VISA Electron, VISA Classic and MasterCard.

How can I pay via mobile phone?

Payment via mobile phone is currently available only if you a subscriber to, or purchased a prepaid phone card from, either T-Mobile Hungary or Telenor Hungary.

Are the prices on Songs.hu inclusive of VAT?

Yes, all prices on Songs.hu include the value added tax (VAT).

 

 

In which format can I download the songs?

All songs are downloadable in 192 kb, 44 kHz MPEG1 Audio Layer3 (MP3) file format. Most of the tracks are also available in FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) format. FLAC stands out as the fastest and most widely supported lossless audion codec, and the only one that at once is non-proprietary, is unencumbered by patents, has an open-source reference implementation, has a well documented format and API, and has several other independent implementations.

May I make copies of the songs purchased?

You may make copies of songs purchased only for your private domestic use. If you wish to make copies for any other purposes you must first obtain a written permission from the author, performer and producer of the song.

Who receives the money I pay for the songs?

Musicians and authors receive all monies after deducting VAT (20%), service charges payable to providers of payment solutions (3% for credit cards up to 20% for payments via mobile phone) and operational costs (15%). In case the song was released through a record company, artists must share their revenue with the label.

What is RSS?

With the help of RSS, your browser informs you when new content appears on Songs.hu. You may choose separate RSS channels for main page content, news, genres or for any of the bands. Using RSS is free. To receive RSS messages on content updates related to a specific page, just navigate there and click on the RSS link in the bottom of the page. Internet Explorer supports RSS only from version 7.0 and up, while all current versions of Netscape, Firefox and Opera can handle it.
