Akela

The band, named after the wolf in the “Book of the Jungle” was formed in 1990 by Pálvölgyi, who came from the Ossian. Györki joined the band in 1991. Their songs can be found in the “Garázs II.” selection   and played on a tour of the Moby Dick/Dance. Later in 1992 Sobri was replaced by Zoltán Nagyfi (ex-Omen) and Miklós Rátkai. Their concert, which was held in the Budapest State Circus, turned a scandal. By the end of 1994, Gábor Kertész (ex-Napocska) became member of the band because Rátkai had left. Their 15th anniversary concert took place at the Budapest Racecourse, with the Junkies as warm–up band. On their 1996 album which was first presented to the audience on 29 November, on the VI. Farkasnap (Wolf’s Day) in Petőfi Csarnok they had a new musician joined them – Szalai (ex-Stirliz). Their 8th studio album “Fájdalomcsilllapító” was released in 1997 and it was followed by a national tour with the Dinasty and the Catheter (ex-Atomic). After a double album it was time for a farewell party on 6 June, 1998, in Petőfi Csarnok, however, on 23 February, 2002 they reunited for another nostalgia concert.
