D'akasa'nya

D'akasa'nya

He was born as Sándor Daka in Szeged on the 22nd of July 1970.
His first album as his chosen alias D’akasa'nya, Still Life was released autumn 2007 as the artist’s self production. Since then during the years gone by a few more albums were released.

It’s an interesting fact that while the music, lyrics, guitar parts and vocals, the arrangements are credited by the artist, he actually never attended any official institution for music theory. All the above mentioned professional orientations were mastered all by himself as instinctively self –taught. As he describes it: „…I simply just kept watching and listening to the best performers in any given genre and went on practicing so far I discovered that the music I created was not only making fun for myself but rather more and more people found it interesting and enjoyable. For me it is a responsible opportunity, but honor and joy at the same time – through music I’m able to consciously share with other people everything I brought to life.”

He attended the primary school in Körmend where he was supported by his teachers not only because of what he achieved in different arts of sport (water sports, gymnastics, and soccer) but also his extraordinary early-recognized skills in creative arts and graphic arts. He graduated as ceramist from the High School in Pécs for Creative Arts as ceramist and after taking the school leaving exams he moved to Budapest where within two years of time he was accepted at the Hungarian University of fine Arts faculty of Graphic Design. He is actively working in a wide variety of styles in the visual scene even up to recent times.

In the nineties he was taking part in many musical formations, amongst others he played in the college band NAPS and founded his own band as well. With the band VOX he played beside covers from Dire Straits, Chris Rea and Eric Clapton own creations as well and performed these to a wide number of crowds across festivals, club scenes, and played before well known artists.
In1996 with the latter formation he achieved the second place on a talent contest hosted by Petőfi Csarnok where they won a 3 year long exclusive record deal by PolyGram but the record company refused the rights to publish it finally. This shattered the group who was coming together quite well so far during the years and continuous member replacements followed…
Interviews, columns were published several times on the band, and three times official recordings were created at the Hungarian Radio whit more songs which were credited by D’akasa’nya as song- and lyrics writer.

After this formation was spread up a fun-band from friends under the name Sexy Chocolate was established playing happy and cool tunes in which he appeared besides scoring music and lyrics as a drummer in the first times. He created drum demo materials worth a whole album without ever learning how to play drums.:) With this formation he appeared on a best of album and various talent contest in addition a music video was shot on the single „Itt a tó egy itató” .

As a composer he became really active in the past years, and after a 15 year long “silent” appearance on the Hungarian music scene he got to produce every more and more music albums.
Soon after the first meditational guitar album (Still Life) in the same year, 2007 he was debuting as a singer beside songwriter and guitar player role on a maxi album based upon the poems of the Édesvíz Publishing co.’s well known poet A. J. Christian under the name of „Ha lenne egy új életem…” - a four track record.

The third album „Bontsd ki a vitorlát” was published in 2008 – which holds the best self created pieces of the past 15 years with a pop-rock feel.

The fourth record: „United Earth 2012” was released in January 2009 currently only available online. This album now takes on the style of the first album: with one guitar, soft, meditative arrangement and the hit single of this record is available as a free download from the author’s own webpage.

A professional delicate piece is that he never uses a pick on the guitar but much rather a technique which can be seen at Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.
Beside regular concerts – playing own songs, Hungarian and international song covers – he often organizes small group seminars for silent-music meditations, where he as a leader takes live music as a tool to help the attendees to find their inner balance.
As a graphic design pro of course he created his web page by himself and which holds all the relevant and up to date information on him and his creative lifestyle.

Willing to show his lyrical side to others in the years of 2000 he started to collect his poems and now a complete e-book is available for free download on his homepage.
This year even more albums are to be released, what is more in autumn 2009 the last album „United Earth 2012” will be available in stores in CD format.

Thanks to dalok.hu now all of the recordings from D’aka’Sanya are available online in mp3 and FLAC format and all the relevant information and actuals are easy to be found on the official homepage.
